Serving & Storing Instructions
Caring for Your Baked Goods
Thank you for bringing Bramble Mill into your home. Our pastries and breads are made fresh in small batches with no preservatives, so proper storage is key to enjoying them at their best. Below are our tips for keeping everything fresh, delicious, and share-worthy.
General Guidelines
All of our baked goods are best enjoyed the day you pick them up. That said, with a little care, many can be savored for a few days—or refreshed for a second life.
Breads (Sourdough, Loaves, Buns)
Best by: 1–3 days at room temperature.
Storage: Keep wrapped in a clean tea towel or cut-side down on a cutting board for short-term storage. For longer storage, slice and freeze in a freezer-safe bag.
To refresh: Warm slices in a toaster or oven at 300°F for 8–10 minutes. A light mist of water on the crust before reheating can help bring back that bakery-fresh texture.
Cookies
Best by: 2–3 days.
Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature. To keep soft, add a slice of bread to the container to maintain moisture.
To refresh: Warm in a 300°F oven for 3–5 minutes or microwave for 10 seconds for that gooey, fresh-out-the-oven feel.
Tarts & Galettes
Best by: 1–2 days.
Storage: Store in the fridge in an airtight container.
To refresh: Reheat in the oven at 325°F for 10–12 minutes until the crust is crisp and filling warmed through.
Cakes & Tea Cakes
Best by: 2–3 days.
Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature. If your cake has a glaze or cream-based topping, refrigerate it and bring to room temp before serving.
To refresh: A quick 10 seconds in the microwave can help revive moisture, but most cakes are best at room temp.
Scones, Biscuits & Morning Bakes
Best by: Best enjoyed the day of.
Storage: Store loosely covered at room temperature for 1–2 days or freeze for longer storage.
To refresh: Warm in a 300°F oven for 8–10 minutes. If frozen, reheat straight from frozen at 325°F for 15–18 minutes.
Pastries (Danishes, Sticky Buns, Hand Pies)
Best by: 1–2 days.
Storage: Keep covered at room temp or refrigerate if they contain dairy-based fillings.
To refresh: Warm in a 325°F oven for 8–10 minutes or microwave briefly for softer pastries.
Freezing Tips
Most items freeze beautifully! Wrap tightly in plastic wrap, then place in a freezer-safe bag or container. Label and date. For best results, enjoy within 1 month.
Final Notes
We make everything in small batches with whole ingredients, so some natural staling may occur faster than store-bought goods. When in doubt—toast it, warm it, or share it.
